Jeff E. Moore, CPA/CFF, CFE, CIRA |
Jeff
Moore is the founder, owner, and principal consultant of
the JE Moore firm. He is a Certified Public Accountant
(certified in financial forensics), a
Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Insolvency and
Restructuring Advisor. Jeff graduated cum laude from Georgia
State University in 1977, earning a BBA degree in
accounting. He then began his career, as an auditor with the
international accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst (now known as
Ernst & Young LLP). After spending five years at E&Y, two
years with a Top-25 Atlanta CPA firm, and two more years as
Assistant Treasurer and Vice President-Finance for a
privately-held resort development company, Jeff formed the JE
Moore firm and became one of the pioneers of the
now-popular "part-time and interim chief financial officer"
industry.
For over twenty years,
Jeff specialized in the delivery of CFO and controllership
services. In 2002, his firm began expanding into several
niche-practice areas, including corporate recovery
and restructuring services, internal control and antifraud services, forensic
accounting and litigation support,
and financial staffing and
recruiting. Today, Jeff primarily practices as a forensic
accounting expert, serving lawyers and their clients, and
performing internal investigations for organizations of all
types.
During his 33-year career, Jeff has assisted over 600
business clients, including start-ups with no revenues,
privately-owned enterprises with annual revenues from
$500,000 to over $1 billion, and public companies with sales
of $1 million to over $6 billion per year. Many were
highly-profitable companies...while others struggled with
severe financial or legal problems. Jeff's past and present
clients include manufacturers, assemblers, fabricators,
distributors, retailers, builders, contractors, real estate
developers, insurance firms, banks, law firms, printers,
advertising and public relations firms, pharmaceutical
companies, internet start-ups, software developers, PEOs,
broadband, telecommunications and other technology
companies, and numerous other commercial enterprises. He has
also served several private schools and various other
not-for-profit organizations.
Jeff is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA),
the Forensic and Valuation Services Section of the AICPA,
the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA), the Leadership Team of the
Forensic and Valuation Services Section of the GSCPA, the Association of
Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA), the Association of
Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Since 2005, he has served
as Secretary or at-large Board Member of the Georgia Chapter of the ACFE.
Jeff is Chairman of the GSCPA's 2009 Fraud and Forensic
Accounting Conference Task Force and was Co-Chair of the
2008 Fraud and Forensic Accounting Conference Task Force.
Jeff established and maintains the "Forensic Accounting
Today" blog (Formerly named "The Solo Accountant Reporter").
He is also the founder of the Atlanta Financial
Professionals Network (AFPN),
a loosely-aligned group of independent and freelance
accounting and finance-related practitioners.
Jeff is an active member of Buckhead Church
and his hobbies include tennis, jogging, and
photography.
